Description

Seek ballance within to gain harmony in the spaces around you Happy Birthday Monica In regards to this image, I tried to capture the emotions, the feel and esthetics of an oriental silk scroll painting by merging of two completely different ideologies. Western composition of the 'Golden Rule' (40/60 balance), merged with Eastern philosophical interpretation of nature in relation to space. I hope that my Haiku compliments the visual. Thank you for stopping by. Vielen dank das Sie vorbei gekommen sind. Technical Information: CAMERA: Canon with 50mm Macro, exposure range f11-16 on tripod FILM: Fuji-Sensia 100 ASA, processed normal LIGHT: Norman 1250 single light with a mini softbox with fill and gobo SEPARATION: Nikon LS-2000 scanner, full frame PHOTOSHOP NOTES: Photographed the calligraphy and chops I made. An additional background was added behind the flower to create the illusion of silk. Adjustments in Levels and Brightness/Contrast were made. No retouching or artistic filters were applied.

I think that you achieved everything that you set out to do with this image. I love the simplicity and balance. Purple iris has always been one of my favorite flowers as well.

We definitely need more balance in the world around us. I believe you achieved in style what you were after. Pure elegance and symmetry. The difference in colors are pleasing but yet do not put me at ease...for I long to see the colors of spring once again.

Remind me of Japanese paintings some how... not only by those signs you've added but by the arrangement! Exquisite! Of course another vote! Hehe... have just read your words of explanation after sending my comment, had to go back again :o)... so I was right with my feel about an oriental silk scroll painting :o) BTW my name is Monika, too, but it wasn't my b'day wink
