Description

- Scotland - Some of you asked how the wonderful window of the church you could see in the last two postings would look from inside. I didn't want to post this photography, because I don't like it very much. The interior looks chaotic with all the mixed stuff of different times. Old weathered walls, new columns, ugly spotlamps, and the beautiful but intensively colored window doesn't fit into the view. No harmony at all. But here it is and do you share my opinion? I couldn't get another point of view because of the bad light conditions and in other directions it was to dark. Thanks for your interest and every written word! ;o)

The walls may need a little touch up but the bench shines and the alter is simple. The view from here look beautiful. Aloha

Nice stained glass window and the interior brings one back to the 1400's. Excellent. ;o)

Actually, I do like the photograph as an illustration of the lack of architectural continuity throughout the centuries. Bravo, well done. Yet the church stands :-)

I share your opinion 100% . It's a shame such a beautiful church has patch work interior . If only the rest could match the stained glass .

Well, it shows how creatively you brought out the beauty of a chaotic place. Bravos for that.:O))

I agree, it is a little chaotic in there, but still seems to have an air of antiquity. If I had been there, I would have suggested just zooming in on the stained glass window and leaving off your flash. ;o)

I loved diomedes66's comment and agree with it. This is a great image. It is very peaceful and reverent feel to it. I love places like this. They make you wonder about what life was like at different times in history. Well done.

I prefer realistic, 'warts-and-all' shots, to glossy views which the locals would not recognise. I think they spent their money first on repairing the roof, Rita,( as I commented on your first exterior view of the church ). Now that my church has a new roof, some members of the congregation are noticing that the carpet inside is rather threadbare. However I think that nothing disturbs the atmosphere more, inside a church, than the rain pouring through holes in the roof! Regards, as always, John.

I agree with jgkane. You wanted to say something & you said it. Yes, it is cluttered, but so what? Good, honest photography with no intent other than to communicate what was there. You should be applauded.

What is good is the focal point, it is the window, you want to see, and your shot shows it very well, old places always have mix of bits and bits, your foto is wonderful, Eccellent V* Lina

It is what it is! Despite the lack of harmony and jarring notes, it has defilitely certain elegance that small churches have. The stained glass window and the altar are the focal point and when you concentrate on that, everything else seems unobtrusive!

You are right when you say they mix it up too much. If they stayed with old style it would be so much nicer. All the same you have good lighting and a good POV.
