BIOHi everyone!
I'm a 19 year old guy from Sweden, right now I'm just being unemployed, I'm taking one year off before I continue studying. Since I don't have an occupation at the moment, I spend an awful lot of time playing computer games and working with 3D. Since my dream is to work with 3D-graphics in the future, I thought I could aswell pay some serious attention already.
I started working with bryce when it was first released, but I didn't start playing around seriously until 1998 or something. I first started to use Lightwave in April, or something like that, that's when I found renderocity. It's really a great place for inspiration and development. cheers!

It looks great though! I don't know if displacement mapping would give you the realism you have achieved here. Great attention to detail!

The tex on the cover for the eraser looks a bit odd in some places, but otherwise very good.

All those small details make a very convincing render. So good on you! (vote)

Love the attention to detail my friend. The bite marks make this particularly eye catching because whilst so many artists have made pencils etc, none have a real sense of actually being used. Great work and a vote.

captured my vote with it. i like the graphite on the eraser and the soft edges, worn edges there. Some nylon erasers have a bit of SSS, right? I don't chew pencils, but i tend to sharpen them with my pocket knife, so the other side is hacked up and with the graphite over exposed and sanded to a razor point.

i think what's making it look less photoreal is that it isn't set in a photoreal setting. try making a pencil-holder on a desk and see how it turns out. i like the attention to detail on both the pencil the the eraser. as esclece said, you don't find many people modelling pencils that look like they've been used. good stuff
