Description

- 50 Miles of farmland powered the 20 mph wind gust - Suddenly this 10 by 20 foot monster came to life - The event of this act could almost be defined as violent because of the power required to raise such a large flag - This obvieously was not forgien to this wind woren veteren of American Symbolism - It seemed ironic to me that this particular flag stood at the enterence of a giant stone factory - Yes Stone ! - Granite to be more percise - The end product called by some a Head Stone to be placed polished and engraved at a final resting place - - This is probably the most recignizable love and hate symbol on the planet - Contraversy and emotion surround it's very presence but for one moment I wanted to capture something else - - Thank you for your interest and indulgence & please take care - - SoulEatar - - Taken 2-5-05

Definitely loaded with symbolism the old stars and stripes. I notice yours is blowing to the left. I did that in a painting once and my father commented that it usually blows the other way. What a prophet!

Sorry, I can't agree about the "symbolism" - I, for one, am totally indifferent. Good photie though.

Strange thought came to mind. some Americans can't seem to understand when others get patriotic about their own countries. they lash out, defile their beliefs and histories, revile them for not being American, when all along, all you have is your home and native land, where ever it is.

Death is the starving parasite. He feasted on the very body of the son of God and then spat him out. I never flew my flag in 1976 because I was forbidden to buy a 50 star flag and putting up my 48 star one was illegal. Compromising and buying a 49 star one at a swap meet was just to clandestine. I finally located a yellow "Don't Tread on Me" on July 4th, 1981 and fired the "shot heard around the world." Do you know the Congress tried to outlaw the flying of those large garrison flags as "ostentatious" and out of "the american characteer" after the bi-centennial. Night flying which was always illegal became a new symbol.

Excellent photo, but I tend to disagree...the most recognizable love and hate symbol on the planet is probably the cross of Jesus Christ.
