Lovely image. It reminds me of my youth and an old song by Melanie, ''Brand New Key'' - "I've got a brand new pair of roller skates".

A great capture, Rozanne, of a magical moment in a child's young life. The light and shadow - so well defined - remind me so much of your adopted (?) country, Spain. This morning I woke up to a light dusting of snow. Since there was not enough to play in, my grandson was not interested in going outside. He is still high after visiting a live NODDY show, in Glasgow. I remember when my boys learned to roller skate. Their mum had to teach them, since I had never had roller skates or a bike, when I was young. It was my job to pick them up. They wore all the elbow and knee pads, and even helmets. However once they had mastered the technique they moved on to something else. The resilience of the young. They do not know what 'impossible' means, and therefore attempt so much that we judge to be outside of our abilities. Have a nice Sunday, John.

Excellent image! She seems to be in control!! It is always such an exciting moment, like riding the bike for the first time without anyone holding the bike. You have captured the perfect moment!!
