Description

The race against Melt-down is being lost. Another mild winter means no ski-ing season to talk of again. Last weekend the vast carpark in Glenshee had two cars in it. The last decent season was in 2000. The problem is that while the snow falls, the wind that brings it usually means that the ski-tows cant operate, and who wants to ski in a blizzard anyway? If they were to try to inflate a big purple "Milka" cow here, they would risk it ending up in Norway. Right after the snow stops, a warm front usually melts the bloody lot. Today the ski industry received another blow. Snowsport Scotland decided that the annual downhill championships will, from now on, be held on the continent. The bones of the motionless ski machinery litter the slopes in a sad reminder of better days. Sniff.

This image looks like some abstract art to me, very well done. Sorry about your ski season, sometimes mother nature just doesn't want to co-operate...

A very impressive shot sure captured my attention. Unfortunate for the Ski resort problems, it affected a lot of jobs and lives. Aloha

Aye, Anthony, the weather put paid. I believe, even to the dog sleigh championships as well! There was only a light dusting of snow this Sunday monring in the east end of Glasgow. Not even enough to slip on, although the North Wind would have cut right through you. My grandson was disappointed that there was not enough to play in. Regards, John.
