When we fought Irag all we could talk about was how many Americans died. Less than 150 i believe. However an estimated 100,000 died there, including thousands of innocent people that did not support that government. I am American, is my live more valuable than others?

that says it right.America baited these events and now cries foul. this could have been prevented if it wasn't for our policy makers quest for mass genocide of opposing voices to their big bully tactics. this is another Pearl Harbor. We knew that this was about to happen, and made sure it happened. now the WTC have paid for our bullies actions. think for yourselves people.

Right or wrong you should not show the flag upside down. I know it is your priveledge to do so. But I do not agree with this portrayl.

I am just glad we live in a country where this kind of minority opinion can be expressed without fear of retaliation. You can disagree with what 3DGod says, but never deny his right to say it. The terrorists win if you do.

As I am not an american, I don't feel I have a right to perch, or say that it is wrong to fight against evil, but what ever my views on these subject. My view on the unhuman act that the terriost acted out on the 11th 9th 2001, not only showed how much he doesn't care for others but for him self. For you as an american I find it hard to believe that you could do such a thing to the flag. I would never dream of putting down so many people in my own country. I am willing to stand by what ever acts the whole american people chose to take in a right to stop such thoughtless acts..............I am an Australian and Proud of it................God bless all Americans in there times of need.

if you can find a place to live where terrorism is not going to find you eventually then go there and go quickly....your disrespect for the flag is merely disrespect for the blood of Americans lost to terrorism....you are no better than sheep if you think the terrorists would find you honorable for your views...they would just laugh and kill you anyway....so go and find that place where the terrorists will not find you....until 9/11/01 that place was the USA....now maybe Mars....

i think we should be smart, and do whatever we can to protect ourselfs,,this event shows we need to be just that, if we kill these people and thousands more it will not slove this problem, it will cause more to hate us, for every one that dies another will rise up. We don't protect our borders, we sell weapons to people that use them against us later' we dont protect our nuclear material. We dont seek to know other cultures or understand them, It's like giving a gun to a child and then beating him for using it. I think its easy to say lets bomb someone,, but its not smart. People are upset because i put the flag upside down. Would you be upset to see a child in the middle eat blown to pieces. I love America, but i dont support the murder of innocent people.

3DGod, You obviously are too immature to truely grasp the situation. First of all, 86% of Americans can be right because they know this will not be war in the traditional sense. They are not running off to conquer nations. What will happen will be just like what happens when the police raid drug labs and crack houses, but on a larger and more dangerous scale. You are equating this with the Persian Gulf War and that is not right. 20,000 or so (not 100,000, I looked it up) Iraqies died in the Persian Gulf war, many while rebelling against Saddam Hussein. Many of his troups surrendered at the site of our soldiers. AND don't forget it was all because IRAQ INVADED KUWAIT! If the attack on the WTC goes unanswered more will follow. And I personally don't care if 100,000 terrorist or those that support them die. I would rather they not, but if there is no realistic alternative. War is at least honest, terrorism isn't. Whether is comes from the IRA or Osama bin Laden, NO MORE.

We have been attacked. In a most hideous and murderous way 3D. If you want to offer these animals a flower, and shake your love beads at them, then go ahead. Turn your other cheek to these people. Put up some signs around your house, and paint them with, "We are not going to resist if you come to kill us. We won't hit you back. We are too afraid to fight you." As for me and mine, we will keep our powder dry, and encourage them to step right into our crosshairs. At the end of that day, you and yours will be dead. We will be alive to fight on. Like the president said tonight, "You are either with us, or you are with the terrorists". It's that simple. Choose.

Im sorry, peace is wonderful however, the terrorists want to kill all of us. Peace can not be one sided. My son is training as a fire fighter, my dad was Air Force for 25 years, my mother in the Army and I will support OUR people all the way.

You know..it seems like a lot of people here are just being really stupid. I personally agree. War is not the answer. We bomb them..they bomb us back again... By bombing them we're going to be killing innocents as well. It's just not right. And I DID lose family in the Trade Center incident. But it doesn't mean I'm gonna go kill anyone cause of it. You can't blame an entire country for their leaders mistake. I mean.. look at OUR ex president ..geeze. Wake up people. If we start thinking like them... we might as well BE them. Wake up.

Part of living in the USA is the right to have & express your opinions. That is part of the freedom we have that so many other countries do not. 3D has every right to express his opinion & would have voted with the other 14%. That is his/her right & the right of every American. Now, as to my agreeing with the statements; HELL NO! I to wish there never had to be another war. I wish all people could live together as the only race clasification that matters; the human race. However, this is not going to happen any time soon. We have been viciously & cowardly attacked. Many innocent Americans as well as members of other countries are dead because of some radicals who are a discrace to the religion that they supposedly follow when they actually have no idea or clue about the true philosophy & ideals behind it. They are human garbage & should be treated as such. I agree with Vethril, if they come walking up to my home, my family & I will blow them to pieces, won't think twice about it & drink a beer for everyone of them that drops. If we don't take action against all who were apart of this act, including those who hide them, we open the door for other attacks. We will let them know that we are weak & they can do whatever they want to us. A to hanging the flag upside down, I disagree with that as much as I disagree with flag burning. A flag should only be burned if it touches the ground. If you dislike this country that much, then leave. It's that simple.

As a Veteran of 4 years of service in the US Army, 2 years at a Pershing 2 missile site in Germany, I can tell you a solider doesn't want to go to war, but then there are times we have no choice in the matter. what happened on 9/11/2001 is just such an event. As long as people like bin Laden , Saddam Hussein, and other violent extremists exist, there will always be a need for the military to take action. War should always be a last resort, but unfortunately it is a neceesary evil that has to be used when dealing with people capable of carrying out such atrocities with no regard to anyone's life. My main hope is we focus our military upon the perpetrators of these acts and try their damnest not to hurt any civilians who are not coonected to these acts.

The whole world was affected...And War is Never the answer Too many Innocent lives are lost in the pursuit of power....But when a human being takes drugs in the name of his or her religion and then goes out and commits mass murder are we supposed to sit back and turn the other cheek and say "well we will beef up security and it wont happen again".....Just for all the innocent lives lost do to terrorism thru all of time for the children and women alone we should stamp out all terrorists....GOD BLESS AMERICA.....Be Respectful for all of the brave AMERICANS who have fought and died for the flag and country women and kids too....TURN THE FLAG

American lives worth more?? Bin Ladden seems to think so. His last attack on two US embassies in africa killed 16 Americans. But almost 300 Africans were killed and thousands injured, all muslims. He's willing to sacrifice his "own" people 20 to 1 to kill Americans and you critisize the US in the Gulf War? I'm a pacifist at heart but there comes a time when you need to act.

What is Freedom worth. I am generally a peaceful person, prefering talk over conflict, but there is a time and place for war. This, in my opinion, is it. Last time the WTC was bombed, 6 people died. This time, over 6,000. Do 6 million have to die next time before we will finally agree that something must be done to make sure this doesn't happen again. If we stand around and do nothing, in my opinion, it will show that we will do nothing and that people can destroy the people and freedom of this nation with no reprocussions. I think your depection of the flag upsidedown is disrespectful, but that is my opinion. You are allowed your opinion and are able to express it because of the freedom that is currently under attack. We did not just "obtain" this freedom that everyone seems to take for granted, we fought, tooth and nail, for every bit of it. I am fully supportive of America and it's government and think no is the time to fight again to maintain our freedom.

3DGod, I will defend to the bitter end your right to post art work, your right to freedom of speech, all of your rights as an American. I'm glad to see you thanked Vendetta for his post. I take that to mean that you've changed your mind and agree with what he said. I must say that I agree with you. War is the greatest evil ... and if we have to destroy the taliban and all terrorists everywhere in order to achieve a state of 0 War then I say "So Be It". They attacked us, for whatever reason. ... Is it nobler in the mind to suffer the slings and arrows of terrorism or to take up arms against terrorism and by so doing end it? A little paraphrasing of William Shakespeare but it says it perfectly. Keep the flag the way you have it if you want but just remember that it's America and our way of life that creates a society where you can.

"I may not agree with what you have to say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it." Voltaire (I believe). Please remember that the freedom and rights that you, I, and every American share (and even take for granted at times), was paid for with the blood of men and women willing to give their lives for this nation. By depicting the flag upside down, you have dishonored the sacrifice those people made. To date, the only innocent lives lost were those in the WTC, the Pentagon, and flight 93. So far, our government is going about things the right way, by seeking out those responsible; in order to seek justice, rather than revenge. Otherwise Afghanistan would be a parking lot. Unlike the terrorists, the US military has always gone to great lengths to keep the loss of innocent life to an absolute minimum. Unfortunately, it's unavoidable in war. But at least we make a distinction between military and civilian. Our enemies don't. No, the greatest evil would be for America to do nothing.

Anyone and I mean anyone who disfigures that flag needs something more than a few words, for all and I mean ALL who honor that flag and who state that the final bargain is simple..LOVE it or LEAVE it, 3D may have no idea of what it was like in 68-72 but fella I do and I left part of my sanity back there but I do know this fella, you best change that flag back the way it should presented and be thankful that you live in a country that takes care of YOUR freedom without you having to lift a finger. Change it and be quick about it..You insult many VETs such as myself and many of my brothers who did not come home back in Asia...Nough said...I am pissed....

if we don't do anything, you really believe that the terroists will stop their attrocities? i don't think so. and like it has been stated and like our president said, these will be missions by the special forces and they will be pinpoint strike missions not iraq or kosovo operations.

I am an ex-Navy man, and am now a Fireman. I am offended by the flag being displayed that way. But it is your right. What I think is misleading is that one word everyone keep using - WAR! I feel the term -War- is being used as a statment suggesting that we as Americans will do everything in our power to bring the responsible party down. This could be as simple as asking for a surrender, or going in with an elite fource to extract those that caused this catastophy. Just because they said WAR doesn't mean we are going to attack with bombs flying everywhere, killing blindlessly whatever comes in our way. I know a lot of people are really pissed, but don't let revenge cloud your minds. One more note..Americans are no more value than anyone else. We are all equal - even Bin Lauden. If you feel this is not the case - you're wrong. What our fellow humans have to remember is that this is a major disaster that we have not been witness to here in America, and anger, shock, and the shear thought that this could have happened have a lot of us blinded. I would like to appologize for them - but it is not my place. I have visited many places, and I would like to make one comment - every country has people who feel they are better than those of another country. This is a hurdle we all must overcome.

ok, some of you realy missunderstood. i did never say theat we should do nothing about these terrorist attacks, i think we should go for war, but the words J. W. B. said, it was yesterday i think, souns a bit like the words of another person, 60 years ago he said something like "we are the best people on the planet, the have best buisness, the best enterprises, everithing of us is better than of all the others" so, i think thats still a big problem, sure lots of amerikans died for freedom, but the most of them useless, just because of the ideologie of politicians (Korea and Vietnam) lots of amerikans died there, but they couldn't prevent these coutries from becoming ruled by comunists. the problem is ,that many of the amerikans think that they are invulnerable, but as you see, thats not true. and after the war in afgahnistan, which i realy support, you'll see, that these attacks will not end. you cant defeat terrorism in fighting just one war. @nightshift001 i dont know form where you got your illusions, but people who talking such shit, realy have now imagination what WAR meens. i am sure, if you would be in war, you would be the first who would run away...

10 for your courage and for your humanity. I am not American, but even though I was really shocked to see what happened, I am also shocked to see how eager the USA is to go to war. In our news, I'm hearing about how the USA is planning to hit not only Afganistan but also all the other suspicious places/countries. WTF? That's bloody insane, going on a brainless crusade when you are not even sure who your enemy is! You want to bomb Afganistan till there's only dust left? Well, let me tell you what. Afganistan is so much more than Taleban or Osama bin Laden. The people of Afganistan are already very poor, starving and suffering. You want to go and make the innocent people suffer even more? Would killing innocent Afghans bring your loved ones back? No. The mindless war that's about to start is only going to hurt us all. Oh and about us Europeans singing "Deutschland er alles" without you Americans? Oh come on! How many years of WW2 had already gone before you guys finally decided to help? I'm starting to think the American people don't know anything at all about the world history, except for their own.

Eowyn, thank you for your comments, we need to work together as a civilized world and educate ourselves to get beyound our self centered thinking, of course this evil of terrorism must be stopped. Our actions must be guided by wisdom, not by ignorance and blind revenge.
