Description

All to often we find ourselves going through a rhythm when we photograph or do any post work. But what happens when by error we click on a wrong button or set the numbers differently? Do we undo or continue and explore an unknown? Do we challenge our belief and travel that 'path less traveled'? So this evenings image comes from an excursion into which an error turned deliberate exploration becomes a new experience. The photograph was with premeditation shot yesterday during a downpouring of rain, for there is no excuse in not taking pictures during bad weather. If it were not for the rain, I would not be able to capture the reflections of the building and other light upon the asphalt. Yet with today's posting, I also decided to try something different. It is that error of having entered the wrong number in post-work. So I paused and studied this altercation of the image and wondered what could be achieved if I pursued only to see where it lead. Having photographed with conventional B&W and colour infra-red film, I was hoping to convert this image to a representation of infra-red colour film but one featuring an air of 'night-time'. This is a direct result of an article in British magazine 'Digital Photography User,' issue 76, page 110, in which they describe how to convert an image to B&W infra-red. I elected to try this for achieving a colour version of this film and though my technical approached differs, I did make use in part their method. Technical information on this image will be posted this Friday. From this day forth, I will have 'Ranking' disabled. For me this is not a popularity contest, but a forum in which I am permitted to share my ideas, visions and art with you, in return I too am learning from you. Comments will always be welcomed, for I would like to know what it is you feel, think and experience after viewing my art. Even if you question my art, feel free to do so. Here you will find respect for honesty and truth! Naturally any technical suggestions are also appreciated. For those who have followed the flower series these past two weeks, I extend my sincerest gratitude, for your time and the many wonderful comments. Thank you for stopping by. Vielen dank das Sie vorbei gekommen sind. Grazie. Technical Information: CAMERA: Sony DSC-V1, Automatic exposure, ISO100, EV + -0.0, handheld LIGHT: Natural overcast, during rain

I really like this 'error' :-), The colours are vibrant, and the rain in the street makes me sense rapid motion, like the vapors of many vehicles speeding past! For me, this is magnificent!

I have to often pressed the wrong button many a times. I'm definitely sure I cant repair my mistakes. But with your explanation of exploration, maybe some of my mistake can be altered and viewed different. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. Aloha

....continue and explore an unknown for sure. To me you have made maybe a fairly mundane image become a representation of very good print art.I often think of taking images of a few shops around here which I find sort of interesting. Then i continue to drive past. Now I see that there is a good reason to stop and shoot them. This image could still be changed many times to come up with other great effects. Bravo

Nice work Egmont. This image jumps off the page. You know I love abstracts, and this is almost in that category. For me the ultimate test of an image is whether or not I would hang it on my wall. This I would! Probably more color than Pinole has seen in a while. Congratulations!

Interesting, Egmont, I was quite surprised. The colours are very electric and I could see somene using this particular image for a CD cover,, the name Square Deal Gargage is good name for a band. Thank you soooooooo!!!much for all of your technical expertise.

The very saturated blues, yellows and reds hold this together. When the structures of a building's walls become lines in a painter's composition and random textures light up... there's a moving of the artistic juices don't you think?

I'm still lost at the infra red conversion part??? There is so much to look at here, its a feast for the eyes, like the whole street has been lit up by neon lights. Great expermentation, and the subject matter is flattered by the brighter than life colour. Very creative V =)
