Description

A view over the wetlands from Fogg Dam (Northern Territory, Australia). This type of scene is usually seen in the wet season (Nov - Mar) afternoons. Photo was taken at 4:30pm and about 10 mins later there was a huge storm over where the photo had been taken. Thanks for viewing and comments welcomed. Have a great day.

Stunning photography Saurav ! The colors are simply outstanding ! Is this all digital photography and how much postwork involved to bring out these colors ??? Excellent work to say the least and agree with TobinLam that this is certainly worthy of National Geographic !

@ pclavett: I own a Canon EOS 300D and I only shoot in RAW mode, so there is a fair bit of post involved to bring out the colours, sharpness, contrast etc. Shooting RAW has major advantages as it allows you to edit in 16 bit colour space as opposed to 8 bit for JPEG. So the tonal range and details are greatly enhanced. You can notice it on print espically. Also when you shoot in JPEG or TIFF the camera predetermins a set of rules to apply post (ie saturation, sharpness contrast) as the shot is recorded in memory. But with RAW you have more creative control and thus allows you to bring out certain aspects of the photo. This is obsiously done in post using Photoshop or other simmilar products. I prefer this work flow. Thanks for comments.
