Description

This is a female Saltwater Crocodile, scientic name for the salties are Crocodylus Porosus. This one was about 2.8m in length. Shot from a bridge over the Adeliade River (Arnhem Highway) in the Northern Territory. I'm happy with the details of this shot as the water was very murky, you can even see little fish swimming if you look closer (left of it's snout). This is typical sort of conditions they prefer. I used a polarisig filter to minimise the glare from the water. Thanks for viewing and comments welcomed.

The point of view and perspective of the magnificant creature is perfect. It gives it a sort of mythical atmospher about it. Bravo!

Yup, I can see the little fish. I can see 3 clearly, although I think there may be 3 more, not sure lol. Its annoying how so many of these aussie critters live in dirty, horrible water! But, that's how it is, I think you did a great job with the tough conditions! This headshot does illustrate why crocodiles are such sucessful hunters. Most people and animals dont see this silent killer coming. I love crocs, very fascinating! Excellent =)

A strange and captivating shot :)) the colours are monochromatic and smooth :)) Beautiful! If you look without thinking it is a crocodyle shot, you can see a kind of ghost image, with the 2 eyes (those of the crocodyle) the nose, and a twisted mouth :)) ... very intrigating shot!!
