Description
3dsMax "SciFi"
Almost everything I do, start out as a test of some purpouse, no exeption here. My textures are a mix using photos and procedural shaders. Iam always using alot of uvw channels so i can make everything the way i like it.
EX: I use a "face-mapped" gradient ramp to control the specular of my edges to simulate a smoother surface etc. All lights are raytraced, and i use one projector light to get some interesting shadows.
The "steam" is only a particle system using sprites, based on a cloud texture made in photoshop. Gravity and wind makes is look ok.
Additional notes: All metal "except the red texture on the barrel and a rusty texture is procedural only. Using procedural bumps to get it look ribbed using gradient ramp, with a fast in and out fall off etc.
Cheers
