Description

Lava forms New Beach. As you approach this area where lava enters the sea, the outer layer of the lava rocks became very brittle and sharp. The sand at this new beach is glass like but in time, the ocean with its pounding surf will turn it into fine black sand. For safety reasons, the coast line areas has been roped off because the newly formed lava land is very unstable. There were several large lava benches that had collapsed and unfortunately, one man was standing on it. He was never found. Further in the background is another area where lava enters the sea. Aloha and thank you for viewing

Wild scene when 2 forces of nature collide. I love that black sand, just don't like walking barefoot on it. Marvelous capture of something most people will never see in person.
