Description

I have a friend who is working on some auto paint materials, so I was seeing how close I could get to the effects of a real gloss paint job. So far, I have not found a way to accomplish this effect in a single material, but I did come up with this method in the process. I duplicated all the red body parts and shifted them just a tiny bit toward the camera and then I applied a "gloss coat" material to the duplicates. That's all the hints I'll give for how I accomplished the glossy effects. One of the elements that help make this more realistic is the sky that is reflected. Vue 5 on a Mac; No postwork; 57 Chevy is from Sparky (but with my materials - sorry, I'm not fond of pink). Comments and Suggestions Always Welcome

Excellent color, mat amd reflection work George. Seems somewhat grainy as if you did not want it to render too long and used a lower setting. If true, I can certainly understand! LOL.

No offense to Sparky and his great model here, but I like your color choice here much better. George '-)! Can't wait for more hints on how to accomplish this as I could've really used some real paint texes for my last render'-)!

no offence taken. I don't like pink either! That looks so much better, it is one amazing effect, especially doing the ground reflection as well. it's just so life like -I'm stunned. I'm amazed how you got such beautifull lighting without hrdi.
