Description

The responds and many wonderful and great comments to the last two images in this series have been phenomenal, specifically to the second image Captivated by King's Words and the question I raised. After reading all the responses, I have come to view the photograph with a new perspective. Today's image, the last of three in this mini series was the one that started it all. It was influenced by Edward Hooper's painting. 'Nighthawks' 1942, o/c, 84.1 x 152.4 cm; on display at The Art Institute of Chicago; Friends of American Art Collection, 1942.51. digital image

i've looked at this image many times and never commented. not quite sure what to say i guess. it has a profound impact on me, but i don't know why...maybe because i understand this image. i've worked in places like this. i understand the people, the chaos, the grease, the hard down & dirty work, and the crap you gotta put up with from customers. all your images are incredible but this one is one i gotta add to my favs. Makes me remember the times I worked at Hinkle's Hamburgers. OMG...what a nightmare!!! Open...oh yeah...24 hours!!!!! You're an exceptional artist. I have a lot to learn from you.

...the moment one sees this photo - Hopper springs to mind -- an 'updated' Hopper though -- very clean work - well presented.
