Description

I started working on this scene a few weeks ago. It's taken me about 5-7 hours to get it to this point.I based it on a couple of pictures I found of venice waterways. Most of the structures were made using box and poly modeling.I used spines to make the railing detail and posts, which is a first for me.I'm pretty happy with how it came out.Just need to add some textures and adjust the lighting.Thinking about adding a boat in the waterway, and maybe a few other small things.I always like to hear suggestions or comments,so if you have any, feel free.Made with max 4.2 with fake GI & photoshop. If you're still reading this, thanks for taking the time.Ben

Thanks for the comments.Yeah you're right.I noticed that about the posts too when I rendered it.It took along time to render,so rather then rerender it I thought I'd just fix it when I add textures.

Hey Ben, read it all (grin). Looks good - nice modelling. I really like the Overhead POV you have at the side - the angle is really compelling. Can't wait to see it with textures, etc. Nice Job!!!

This is one sweet looking piece of work,No doubt some of the best modeling I've ever seen anywhere. All the detail on the bridge railings, the bars on the windows and the gate really add to the relism and make this a excellent scene. It's gonna be unbelievable when it's all textured and finished.keep it up.

I really like this pic. The gray scale models are cool. It lets the viewer imagine what colors and textures will be on the model. You have a very good gallery!

Love your models Ben, you are really talented - and thank you for the presentation :-) Hope you get time to texture it.. though I am the kind of person who also just LOVE to watch a model like this as it is in grey and with some cool GI lighting .. I guess it is like people who like watching white marble statues as opposed to naked women (eeh... ok, I do like watching both LOL). Anyhow, this is fantastic work!! Excellent
