"I have to get back," Ambin replied, avoiding Katerina's gaze as she made her way toward the door. Katerina cleared her throat. "Back to the Temple?" Ambin stopped at the door and looked down at her feet, chewing her lip. She took a deep, nervous breath. "Yes." The two women fell silent. A light breeze swept through the tower, cooling Ambin's wings, urging her to take flight. "I love you, Ambin," Katerina said. "You know that." "I know," Ambin replied, a little awkwardly. "I have to go." She strode out into the bright morning sunshine. "Ambin," Katerina called, following her. "I...I don't quite understand why you've joined the Vixens..." "Neither do I, yet." "...but regardless of the choices you make, you will always - ALWAYS, Ambin - have a home here." "I know," Ambin said, looking into Katerina's eyes for the first time since arriving with Tracy in the middle of the night. "You've always been like a mother to me and my kind, and I'll always love you. But, for now, I have to go." She kissed Katerina on the cheek and spread her wings. "You did the right thing, bringing Tracy here," Katerina assured her. "Tell Sinistra she will be fine." "I will," Ambin said. And with that, she'd leapt into the sky.
