Everywhere people with camera's find their way in this world to make their shots. I like the art of taking realistic pictures, because it provides a way to show how I experience this world. It is a way for other people to look through my eyes.Nature ... exists primarily for her face, her look, her appeals to the heart and the imaginationGeorge MacDonaldJan-Carel Vierbergen
Picture courtesy of Ruut WegmanBIOIt is all in the family: love for hiking in the nature. Since my childhood I'm used to walk with father, brothers, cousins, etc., and take pictures (Minolta X-700 with 28-70 mm and 100-300 mm zoom) of what I see. I grew up in Ede (The Netherlands), studied Electrical Engineering in Eindhoven and I am working now as Coordinator e-learning at the Christelijke Hogeschool Ede (http://www.che.nl) where I implement digital assessments for students and assist students in DTP and creating websites.
Since I know little about photographing as well as computer science it was not difficult to find ways for putting images on the web. The only thing to look for now is to find ways for showing the slides in a convenient way. I tried already something at http://www.che.nl/users/jcv (Dutch only, click at Dia's van de natuur in Nederland en de Alpen), but this platform provides good means to share my pictures with others.
I hope you enjoy this!

This study of lively crystaline and more faded in the background gives earnest purpose to the search for quality. Panelling and pixellation still haunt the process even now with 16 million colors compared to eight in 1994 when the image resolution and size aare constrained. Have you tried a bigger image up to the 3000x3000 and 510kb limits? You just let the scan dpi expand into a 72dpi much bigger image. It slows things down but gets what you want. Renderosity has so far not complained about my few large images clogging up the server. Assume a more generous landlord at least when the image would be severely degraded and not worth posting, otherwise.

I really like the photo. But the middle section (the ice) shines too much and that`s why the background a nd the foreground are too dark. But really nice focused... Good work

Beautifully fragile, yet with some mystic strength.

Jan-Carel, I think you, me, and Rita need to have a little picnic today!!! I'm seeing yummy vanilla ice cream with chocolate syrup!!!!!! and those "twigs", well those are cinamon sticks! and that "grassy" stuff...oh, well, that just...uh....Rita...help me out here girl!!! :) Gee, hope you didn't put grass in our ice cream, Jan-Carel!!!! Chris asked about eating snow. Well, i've eaten quite a bit of snow in my lifetime. Here in Kentucky, a popular treat is snow cream!!! you take fresh snow and add sugar and vanilla! or you can add other flavorings, whatever you like. It's a treat for the "poor" i guess. but once you've had snow cream you'll never want to go to the store and buy ice cream!! anyway, sorry for rambling. ;) i love the way the light falls on the snow, ice & mud and makes it look so beautiful!!! What a yummy photo!!!!!
