Description

Lehua Flower. A flower from the Ohi'a Tree. There is a story to this Lehua flower and its Ohi'a tree. In Hawaiian Legend, our volcano or fire goddess name "Pele" was in love with this person name Ohi'a. But when she saw Ohi'a was in love with another person named Lehua, she was angered. With her fire and magical powers, she killed them both. When the other Gods heard of this, they were angered and ordered her to change Ohi'a and Lehua into a form that they will never part again. Pele created this Ohi'a tree with a beautiful flower called Lehua. The couple Lehua and Ohi'a will never be separated again. It is said that if you pick the Lehua flower, it will rain as Lehua and Ohi'a do not want to be separated again. Our Hawaiian culture till this day has strong beliefs in the fire goddess "Pele". We respect her land as we walk on and we respect her land as we walk off. Aloha and thank you for viewing.........

Beautiful flower with a wonderful legend!!!!! Never to be seperated again!!!!! Love it!!!! I think people must be picking these flowers though because you get a lot of rain there!!!! Hence the lush environment!!!!!!

Oh what a sweet looking flower! So fluffy and colourful. This is an excellent macro, but it could have been magnificent if you had managed to get the top of it as well. But still far more impressive than anything ill ever do. Well done indeed, have a great weekend #:O)
