Description

It has been slow going this last week and this image represents how I feel. A reason for choosing B&W over a Duo-tone. My health has improved but the ear infection and poison oak still lingers about and zapping me of my energy. Right now we are also in the middle of another rain storm after a few days of sunshine. Just found out that the two states above, Oregon and Washington State are having a severe drought for a third year in a row. Wish we could help out by sending some rain their way. The photograph is not part of the California oak tree series or the nature preserve which our house borders. The tree that has lowered its trunks and branches to those towering above it, is a California Bay Leave tree and yes, we do use its leaves as they are fresh and pungent in the spaghetti sauce we make froom scratch. No can stuff here! I hope to be making my rounds to your galleries in a day or two. Thank you for the gracious comments on the California Oak Tree series; 'Under a Canopy of Oak Trees', 'Gate to the Middle of Nowhere', and 'Morning Light'. Thank you for stopping by Vielen dank das Sie vorbei gekommen sind Merci de votre visite Grazie Obrigado Dank u Takk De Please feel free to leave your comments in your native language Bitte f

It still amazes me how your photos keep such detail in the darker areas without the light areas getting blown out. Another very impressive photo from you!!

Great shapes and forms for this composition. The image makes it seem like you are really part of the forest while there is another world just beyond the dark branches. We have Bay tree too, but not one this established. Mmmmm, pasta... ;]

Another great one Egmont, I totally agree with Devious Moose your tonal range is inpressive without losing detail at either end. I am glad that you are gradually recovering from your ailments.

A beautiful place and a great shot ! Dark like our thoughs... but with the light behind, where we are trying to go... Forests are so precious. Maybe there's some mushrooms here ? Take care of you. Nathalie

The thing I admire the most about these pictures is that they invite one to linger, to look again and again to discover new details and new deapths.
