Description

Centered around one of the Hankster's superb Poser statues, this one took me a while as each tree had to be placed carefully on to the almost vertical sides of the canyon. There are some 250 trees so placing them took ages as its very difficult to tell where you are when using procedural terrains. A nice aspect was that the global illumination lighting atmosphere I put together only took 10 hours to render the scene at 1600x1200 and superior quality. Thanks for taking the time to view and please feel free to comment (good or bad, its the only way to learn) :-)

A truly beautiful image; I love the lush foliage - the whole reminds me of a recent holiday visit to the gardens at Bomarzo. I would be curious to see how it would look with a somewhat more aged texture on the statue.

I think foliage is superb! Very lush & like the color. I think the rock textures could use a higher bump setting. Well done :)

Great models & vegetation. Must've been a very hard work placing all those trees... ( dreaming of ecosystems here!) Maybe it's just me, but i think something's wrong with the lighting, I don't know what exactly, but it seems that the vegetation should look more 'vibrant' in the light, brighter. As I said, it may be just me.

Thanks for the bump settings idea, Vue is still pretty new to me and there is so much to learn. I'm a long time Terragen user and the features of Vue are very different so I feel like I'm in Vue kindergarten but I'll keep on trying to improve :-)

WOOOOW ! Bravo! Quality is simply perfect! Concept too! The one element that looks strange to me is texture on rocks - for me its size is too small - but who knows - sometime in the nature you find such strange formations - so why not. VOTE & EXCELLENT

It was definatly worth the time to place all the trees properly... the result is outstanding and makes everything else look very natural, like if it had been there for a long time... Excellent composition...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is excellent, detailed work. The colors of the sky; the lighting and objects are perfection! I would like to see the shadows lighted up a little more to yield even more details. Outstanding work Steve.
