It had been a long and tiring journey. The battle through the pits beneath the Kang Frontier had not been easy. And now, she faced the end alone. All the others had died along the way. But there was just one fight left, the twin Earth Dragons Granite and Chalcedony. They had been responsible for her uncle's death. They were the cause for her life as a wandering mercenary. It had been that earliest of her memories, lying in a pool of blood and strophes that had once been her mother, that had driven her on when stronger warriors doubted the purpose of their mission. They had died for her revenge. They had paid the price for her sense of justice, to kill the monsters that had killed her family.

But in the end, she faced not just the monsters that she knew and had fought time and time again over the years, but their true master. None would have suspected him outside those deep chambers and caverns. No creature alive knew his true potential, for he was more than just a troll. That was plain enough to see when he let down his guard and showed his true form. He was Demonspawn, the offspring of a troll and a demon summoned by the true power being Granite and Chalcedony, the Cult of the Black Flame. What she was looking forward to, one final battle then death, a long deserved death, would have to wait. Now she had a choice, fight or run. She could kill the dragons. That much she already knew. But what powers did their master wield? And who was the real monster here after all? She tightened her grip on Spidersbane and Crimson and stepped into Ollok's hall.
