Description
This is my attempt at a game model. It's the same rat that was used in my other work but reduced from 1600 polygons to 598 polys. The texture is a single 256X256 map. I'm not very pleased with it but it looks ok from far away and since rats are small it might be ok.

So this is the rat you talked about? Well,my opinion would be,umm..you said it looks ok from far away, well since rats are small and fast moving, maybe you rat should'nt have fingers. The extra poly are there. You need to put more poly on the face. And the ears don't have to be that thick. And a longer tail.Do you play Half-Life? If you do,remember that training mode.Yeah, when you're in the target practising place, there are roaches and rats.I put a code and enabled all weapons,I used the crossbow'z scope to zoom on to the rats.I found out the rats look so cool!!!! Its has very low poly, yet very realistic!! The polygons have to be in the right place.Maybe you can use Valve's rat design as a base for your model.I'll try and get a screenshot of the rat.

...however I love low poly models more than models with high poly count...making them it is really an art...

Unfortunatly I don't play Half Life, 1st person shooters make me feel sick. It's the erratic movement when running around. The tail is actually quite long but the angle that this render is on makes it look really short. I agree I probably shouldn't have the toes so I'll take them out.
