Description

Blocked, Zig and Zag. From my last post "More Lava to the Sea" Terry and I wanted to view the next lava flow where Lava again meets the sea. This was a newer lava flow and about a mile away. After crossing the 1st lava flow and almost reaching the second flow, we came upon these hot spots of lava ooz. They were moving alright and the heat was so very intense. Luck was with us as the cool mountain wind was blowing the heat away. It kept our breathing cool. We still wanted to get to that next flow and decided to Zig Zag thru the lava field. We had to be careful where we stepped as every step Terry took, he left smoke in his tracks. At some areas of our walk, the hard surface was only 5 inches thick and red hot lava was underneath. Other areas, it seemed hard but it was just formed. We probed every thing in front of us and made sure we could walk over it. Aloha and thank you for viewing.
