Description

Blocked Again: Many areas of our walk had glow spots such as the first picture. We tried to avoid them as we wanted to reach the second lava flow to the sea. Much of the cracks had a red glow below. The heat intensified even more as we walked thru the thick of the lava field and closer to the second lava to the sea. My friend Terry takes his stick and pokes it through the crack. As soon as the stick touched the lava, instantaneous fire occurred. That probe stick lit up like a match stick. We proceeded and headed up our intended path towards the second lava flow but a small mass of lava was oozing out. We had to change our direction and that we did many a times. More heat to come tomorrow. Aloha and thank you for viewing

wow wow wow.... you say that the stick just went into fire instantly when touching the lava. I wonder is is so that the lava here is still so soft that you would feel a rock moving if there is lava below it? - facinating trip you are on here!

Tony....I couldn't feel the lava flowing below me. You could hear the lava moving across the surface as it pushes the brittle pieces of rocks away. You could definitely feel the heat though and it was very intense. Thanks for asking. Aloha
