Description

Since I have achieved marginal success in hand-painting hair in Paint Shop Pro, I thought I would give clothing a try. This is my first attempt, and I know it's simply awful. I thought I would get your input before trying again. As you can see, I have a *VERY* long way to go, and I need help! BTW, if you want a real showcase of my work, be sure to visit my gallery. This is certainly not one of my best images :] Cheers, Robert (shinyary2)

Shiny this is great for a first attempt...you're doing well. Please take this in the spirit that it is meant..I do NOT mean to offend you...I would like to be helpful if I can. First of all..if her hair is blowing to the side to that degree, her dress would be blowing to the same degree ...actually she would probably not still be wearing it hehe .... Anyhoo...you are on the right track with your shading but you need to blend the light and dark areas together more. I don't use PSP but I would imagine that you have a blur tool and perhaps you would use that to blend the light and the dark more so that it doesn't look so "striped". I understand that you probably don't wear dresses but if you have a wife or a g/f, think about how they look in a "nightdress"..and I know this isn't a nightdress but it's has a similar shape kinda. If you can't get wifey or g/f to model one for you, find a picture of one and you will see what I mean..you have too many "folds" going there and you're making a lot of work for yourself unnecessarily. ...and I'll be quiet now...keep at it ...it's not easy and you have done darned well.

KYMJ is correct...i use ps7..and if you have it..then you can really get your clothes to look real..not stiff..like hair, clothing can be difficult..but your effort is what is important..before you know it..you will be given tutorials! but this is pretty darn good for a first attempt..really! well done..!

Painting digitally is very hard, without a digitizing pad, it's nerely impossible. I like WACOM tablets myself, I reccomend getting one!
