Description

Description: I bought a new raytrace engine for maya, and needed to do some lightVsShadow tests. I was very happy with the overal result. Smooth and nice render. Cheers Johan Sae-Thao

I was a max user before, tried mr a few times, it was integrated and a very famous engine. Prefered FinalRender from cebas though, faster render times, and with three GI engines to choose between. Just before i went to Maya i tried vray a few times, great rendering, but slower then finalrender. Speed is an importent factor for me, not that iam an animator, but i hate the waiting time. I dont care about real physics of the rays. I like smooth shadows, touch of GI or FG and with the use of hdri makes it so mmmm. Mentalray for maya is a mysterium for me. I have dvds on how to use it, using custom shaders etc. Nah to mutch you need to know before using it. Turtle is easy to setup. :) Cheers
