I modeled this daffodil in Wings 3D, then used UVMapper Pro, Paint Shop Pro 9, and scans of pieces of an actual daffodil that grew in my garden to do the textures. Oh yeah, and rendered in Daz|Studio. I'm planning to do more flowers as more things bloom in my garden that I can take apart and scan. The flower may look like one object, but it's actually a bunch of separate objects parented together, because I have an easier time making sure all the color ends up where it's supposed to if I do it this way. Anyway, I realize there's some room for improvement, but this is only the sixth or so thing I've ever made, so I hope people will be nice. :P
