Description
By far the worst photo from last week's 3 day trip, but I thought the car deserved a cameo appearance as it got me up there, and it will appear again in a later photo in a sort of 'spot the car' competition. Not sure what the prize will be.... hehe....
This is the Buttermere side of Honister Pass, North Western Lake District, UK, about 10 miles from Keswick, where I usually stay.
The Romans built a fort very near here 2000 years ago, I wonder if their reasons were purely strategic, or whether they just liked the view?

I have every sympathy for the poor legionaire who had to stand out on guard duty in winter. I can just hear his opinion of the view - lolol

When I saw the thumbnail my first thoughts went to Colin McRae or Richard Burns, you know them ? (hehe, I mean personally :-) 3,2,1, goooooo ! Impressive mountainsides (slope ?)!

Having been away for a while, I've viewed your uploads in the wrong order! Having seen the wonderful mountains and deep valleys and now seeing the car, I imagined the thrill of driving through this beautiful scenery again. Haven't been there for quite a while, but now I want to! Thanks for this great series, Steve!
