Description

A rucksack full of water, waterproofs, tripod, zoom lense, lunch etc. meant this was a good point to stop for a first breather. Another look down Honister Pass. Image doesn't really show how steep the road is here - a few years ago I cycled up & over the pass & got 48 MPH on the speedo on my mountain bike, free-wheeling... No, this isn't the 'spot-the-car' photo, that would be a bit too easy!! Uncropped image. 17-40L @17mm, F6.3, 1/200s ISO 100. Photo was 1075Kb at this size so had to reduce the quality a lot, hope it looks OK to you. Many thanks for comments & views! -Steve-

Great photo - Just to remind you, the infantryman's basic pack has been about 35-40 lbs (roughly 20kg) ever since Roman times. Weapons, ammunition, food and water often come on top.

48 MPH! Jeez thats scary. Whats the world speed record on a bike? I remember it being 117mph, but that was many years ago. Anyway great shot and .....I see the car! I see the car!

Nice shot of these majestic hills :) It seems strange to see Lake District without sheep suppose that is result of foot & mouth .

Fantastic landscape Steve, you may laugh about it, but I like these small stone-walls too(seen so often in landscape photos from UK). ...did you know, that in this region sheeps have shorter legs on one side (hopefully on 'right' side) for easier standing on these slopes ? (Lol, you didn't... ;-)
