Description

I saw a photo of this castle in a calendar and I liked it so much that I decided to recreate it in 3D. The castle is in Switzerland, on Lake Thun. Its coloring is a bit different in reality, but I liked the orangish sunset colors of the picture in the calendar and I emphasized that in my interpretation. I started the project in trueSpace, then, when I got Maya, I continued and finished it there. I used Photoshop for making the textures. I hand painted some of the textures, and for the rest I used textures from 3DTotal, ambientLight, and Dosch. I hope you like the image. Comments are most welcome. Thanks!

While I hate to see you move away from tS, I can honestly say that it looks like you're well on your way with Maya. Great work young lady... so! What's next? ;)

As RimRunner says we hate to see you go. But as long a you keep producing images of this quality it will at least soften the blow. Stunning first Maya post Sue :)

I've never yet seen a model designed to look so real. Now I have. Just went onto Maya myself, hopefully in a few months I can produce quality as good as this. Can you export models from Maya?

Awesome composition, a lot of work here... :) Excellent modeling and texturing! One single suggestion, IMO, the color of the sun don't fit with the sun's position on the sky and a little with the color of sky (aplhaplane). Anyway... a piece of art! v
