Description

Took this picture of this tree I was in awe of last Sunday .. lol - I was laying on the ground -there was this crowd..I am laying flat shooting upwards and people were looking me like I was crazy... but I loved the tree ... credit to Zacko again (thank you Andreas for helping me on this!) This is tree represents one of my fav stories about a tree -so i am sharing the first chapter of it with you!!: I am doing photography now cause my compt won't let me paint it only stays on for 10 minutes at a time - miss my smudgin hopefully will get it fixed soon but in the meantime i am having a BLAST discovering a new love !.. i like to write my own stories and poes but i had a special reason for this it has has a big impact on my life.. no one should be without the giving tree as part of thier collection kids or adults!!.. _The Giving tree_ written by Shel silver stien (first part) Once there was a tree and she loved a little boy. And every day the boy would come and he would gather her leaves and make them into crowns and play king of the forest. He would climb up her trunk and swing from her branches and eat apples. And they would play hide-and-go-seek. And when he was tired, he would sleep in her shade. And the boy loved the tree very much. And the tree was happy. But time went by. And the boy grew older. And the tree was often alone. Then one day the boy came to the tree and the tree said,

Okay, now that my emotions have settled down I can leave a comment. First of all the picture is absolutely WONDERFUL! I love the POV and it is a spectacular tree. It reminds me of a postcard I saw once of a tree that was so huge that the roots, which were above the ground, were so big that they dwarfed the person standing next to it. I love trees. I am in AWE of trees, so right away, you got my vote. THEN you gave me the story! Thank you so much for sharing it. It was a most beautiful story, and I regret that my children have grown because I would read it to them again and again. Thank you for this lovely post.

I do believe that every tree has its own charactier and a story within themselves. Your story fits this tree perfect and I'm sure this tree has a lot of history to add to it. With all said, I just wish I was there to take a picture of you taking a picture of this tree, lol. Have fun. Aloha

I think trees are beautiful and somewhat magical in their own way...they also supply the earth with oxygen and help beautify our surroudings Yep you should do poetry, stories and photography Your got talent girlfriend I love weeping willow trees they are my favs and these weeping cherry trees so beautiful as is this one, nothing like laying on the ground looking up at beautiful trees and the clouds floating by wish i was now instead of listening to rain Excellent shot and story Vote n hugs Susan~

Dear K. Wonderful photo, sorry to hear about your comp, but glad to see your photography - great work. I seem to recall hearing Brennan Manning talk about how Shel wrote this story to explain the love of Christ to friends he grew up with. Totally wonderful analogy. Anyway, great job on your photo!!!

Kimmers, this is TOTALLY magnificent and i LOVE this WONDERFUL tree!!!!! I do EXACTLY the same thing...lie on the ground and look up into the sky, the trees, the clouds...and if i have my cam, which i usually do, i won't be able to resist to shoot!!!! way to go girl for gettin' dirty too!!!! that's the best way!! it's what i do. you should've seen me yesterday! OMG my jeans were covered in dirt!!!! i did try to avoid lying in the mud though! LOL! anyway, sorry, looks like i'm ramblin' away as usual! Anyway, i've adored Shel Silverstein since i was kid, and the Giving Tree has always been one of my favs by him!!!!! Trees, they give us so much, just their natural bueaty alone, I have this huge Oak that sits about 10 feet from my house, and provides all they summer shade you could ask for. The wind going through the branches is bueatiful music, to be perfectly honest I love my tree. Kimmers, this is so Bueatiful, and that story really makes you think...outstanding post all around.........V....John

Wonderful pov a superb photograph - well done. Now you know why some photographers put a bit of plastic sheeting(bin liner) in their bag when going to get snaps something to kneel or lie on ;) This story is so sad........:(
