Description

Thank you sooooo much for your comments on the Loneliness-series of the last two days! You are wonderful people and I'm so grateful to learn to know you! You guys rock! *group-hug* There's something as loneliness, there's also something as alone. Two entirely different things. I'm used to hike with my uncle Jan, who lately suffered from his heart and had fourfold bypass-surgery to make him survive (else he would have died now). No one lives more healthily than he does; he enjoys walking in nature and he eats the healhty things, without or with low fat to keep his cholesterol low. He has walked certainly more than 100,000 km - yes, that's a distance when we sometimes decide to buy a new car - and I've accompanied him on many hikes for 25 years or so. I've just visited him and he's recovering from his surgery well. He would love to be on his way again. There's a way ahead to go. I hope he'll be able to walk soon but we'll just wait before he feels good enough for that. The experiences in the hospital have made him prepared to leave this life when it is his time (he's very calm to face that in full conviction of God's guidance), but we are glad he's still with us. Sorry for the colors washed out in the sky; my slide scanner leveled those colors out (slide-colors are good). Minolta X-700 (Fuji Sensia 100, 100 mm) Thanks for your attention and your always valuable comments

If that's you, then it's really nice to see you! I take it you took the pic remotely and that there wasn't any other human being there with you? The pic is rather lovely too... Nice array of colours.

Blown out sky or not, this is a great shot. Your uncle does seem alone here, but not lonely. Ha, he reminds me of one of those Chinese mystics from those old Kung-Fu movies. Wonderful story, I wish him a speedy recovery so he can get back to the trails.

It seems that Uncle Jan is saying "Hurry up with the picture so we can get going on the hike!" We'll be praying for his recovery and hope to soon see more pictures of him out enjoying nature!

May the Lord be with you and your family; Bless and keep them well. May you never be lonely, when you are by your self. May you understand that you are never alone, even when you are by your self.

FABULOUS foto of your uncle Jan!!!!! I gotta tell ya, Jan-Carel, i thought the same as Kort...my first impression was that he looks Asian...he also reminds me of a mystic from one of those Kung Fu movies!!! You sure you're not part Asian???? :) I see where you get your hair from!!! :) This is such a verrrrry special picture, and i know you will treasure it for many years!!!! I love it just the way it is! What a gorgeous place! I'm so happy that he's recovering from his surgery, and before long, I'm sure the two of you will be hiking the mountains together again as you have done for so many years!!!!! :) prayers for his continued recovery and that he'll be back to his normal self quickly!!!!!!! ;)
