Description

This photo was taken in March when the QE2 sailed into Fremantle harbour. I was planning on going on board and sailing into the sunset, but my plans were foiled by the tight security. I'm kidding, I didnt try and get on board! I'm not that bad! The ship was huge, and the biggest prob I had was getting the kind of shot I wanted cuz even with a 28-80 lens, getting everything in was not so easy. Then I realised that I needed to stand further away *laughs*. This photo was taken by my old friend, my Pentax MZ-50 with a 28-80 lens and polarizing filter. The film used was Fuji Superia 100 asa. I actually got the negs scanned, so it helped a little with the grain, but still, not as smooth as digital. Thanks for all your comments on my last upload =)

Nice to see film still being used as it should not be completly replaced by digital. I also like your presentation which is very elegant and lends the proper feel to the image. The image tells a story in its own way. Nicely done Rachel. :~)

A clean and beautiful shot of the QE2. The blue skies are superb flavoring the depth of the waters where QE2 naps. Hmmm...I see a spot where no one is looking. Might be fun trying to get in the QE2, lol. Have fun. Aloha

I think it is a beautiful, bright, clear shot. The water is very dark and mysterious and the sky is lovely. And the size of the ship is given to the imagination. I think it is a fantastic shot. Well done.

For sure, that's a huuuge boat. With your shots, we are always moving from the micro-world to the worlds of giants. Hmmm, I'm quite sure you wouldn't get any problem at all to get on board. Try it, tell them it's just for some shots and use your smile! Nothing else... Who could refuse anything to you?
