Description
Okay, this is only for modeling, I purposely didn't do textures or fancy lighting.
This is a way of presenting the model itself, just the shape.
It is my first sub-d model. I could have done a lot of this with nurbs but it was sort of an excercise, to purposely use sub-d for everything.
Next time maybe I will do something organic with sub-d.
The flute is fully functional, and I tried to make it more decorative with the flower-and-leaf motif. What do you think? Maybe sometime I'll animate it playing music or something.

This is a really skilfully-modelled image. Very nice minor-detail work like, as mentioned, the flower-motif, and also the little notches below the little spheres, not sure what that bit is called as I don't play the flute! All in all, nice work, great attention to detail. Perhaps sub-ds are the future for you?

I am not familiar with Maya but its in my eyes very good modelingwork I think the flute is to big for the box ?:-) but that ,s only a detail Hope that you next time give it a cool texture Lovely job

Hey fractelaar, thanks. Actually, flutes come apart into separate pieces, that's how they fit in the box. Maybe I should've mentioned that for people who don't have a flute. Thanks for looking! I love your gallery by the way, I've seen it... I don't know about Fractal stuff but now I'm interested in it thanks to you. If only I had time for everything... lol
