Description
Hiking with people like uncle Jan is never boring. There are always interesting things to be discovered. When he suddenly stops walking and talking it's best to look into the direction he looks. Ah, there! A female red deer appears out of the shadows. We grasp our camera's, point and shoot. It has seen us, and after a few seconds it decides to run away. No way to come closer to these shy animals. We put away our camera's and we share our experience while we continue joyfully our hike.

Love this shot. The colors in the foreground bother me slightly compared to your other works. I don't have enough experience or training to describe my critique, but I know what I like. With this shot, I'd like to have my 30-06 and get some venison!

Yes, she is definitely peering straight at you - not impressed by all accounts!!! So off they run, away go the cameras, and then... Well so often that's just what one should'nt have done! Ha!!

Good to see you're always ready to shoot ! Paying attention to surrounding is one of the most important things while shooting wildlife, some say its luck, but my opinion is you have to work for your luck, and being ready when its necessary is one part of this work !

deer are verrrrry hard to capture! quite shy creatures, so you are quite fortunate to have not only gotten a glimpse but to have managed to capture this one on film! I can only imagine how excited you must have been!!!! Fantastic discovery that you'll never forget!
