Description
After a great hike the sun is setting above the horizon, spreading its warm light over the landscape. It's not far back to the car. We find here some imported Highland cattle. Although I prefer the indigenous animals for balance in nature I enjoyed the sun lighting their brown bodies in a remarkable way.
Here ends one of our hikes but we hope to start hiking again when uncle Jan has recovered (he can't wait for that)!

Sometimes a hike can be very exhausting and yet a very exhilarating experience. and You'll never know what to expect. When you reached that area intended, everything seems so easy and the hike was well worth the effort. But on the return trip, it seems more exhausting and takes forever to get back. Our Trophies? The stories and memories that will last a life time. It is our rewards. Excellent Job Done. Aloha

I thought I recognised the Highland cattle!!! The way you have captured them with the setting sun resting upon them gives this picture a really lovely effect..

Great effect of the setting sun on the cows and the heather! Since in Colorado it's generally uphill to the destination and downhill on the way back, I often take more pictures on the return journey because it's not as stressful :)

i see why you liked this one so much, Jan-Carel! that lighting sure is magnificent! very peaceful and dreamy!!! Love the pastels in the sky!!! Now uncle Jan just needs to recover a bit, and I'm sure before too long, the two of you will be out hiking like old times!!!!
