Description

It was a sunny Sunday afternoon, and clouds were dotted across the clear blue sky like mold on cheese. There I sat. Where "there" was, I hadn't the slightest idea, but I sat there. I was content, for the most part - which confused me greatly, since I had no idea where I was or what I was doing there. My confusion growing, I stood and took a look about. It seemed I was in some sort of place with trees. And fallen leaves. And dirt. "Aha!" I exclaimed to my friend Bob, who wasn't present at the time. "I'm at the beach in Wyoming!" I frowned a moment as it occurred to me that perhaps I was at a beach in Cancun, but then I remembered that they didn't have beaches there. Shrugging my slender shoulders, I looked about once more. "But if I'm at the beach, Bob, why isn't my beach chair here? And why don't I have any of that sulfuric acid solution with me, to prevent the sun's harmful rays from damaging my beautiful skin?" I pouted. "Why, this makes no sense at all!" Not knowing where or why, I began to walk. As I was walking, I came upon a small, furry animal with a long, fluffy tail that curled at the end. It seems the animal was digging in the sand and making chitter-chatter. "Ooh, look at this, Bob! It's a dolphin!" The creature glanced up at me, made a loud chattering noise and ran up a tree. "Funny," I said to Bob, "I didn't know Dolphins could swim up trees..." With a shrug of my shoulders, I meandered around the beach some more. Shortly after our encounter with the tree-swimming dolphin, the ever-absent Bob and I came upon a red sign. It read "NO TRESPASSING" in big white letters. "Aha!" I showed the sign to Bob. "Look at this! I told you we were invited to dinner someplace, you sillyduck. Aha, it looks like it's written in French! I believe the translation is 'To Dinner' in Portuguese. But the question is, Bob: what is a dinner invitation doing in the middle of a beach?" Had Bob been there, chances are he would have had a logical answer. "Come along, Bob! Let us find our way to the dining hall!" Despite Bob's silent protests, we ventured on. Eventually, just as dusk was beginning to fall and the horizon was disappearing behind the sun, Bob and I came upon what seemed to be a tool shed with a glass door. When I tried the handle, the door wouldn't open "Come on, Bob!" I urged. "Show some girl power and break through this door, we've a dinner to go to!" When bob showed no action, I took it upon myself. Grabbing a rather large leaf from my hair (which had fallen from one of the trees on our walk), I began to pummel the door with it. Yet the door didn't open, nor crack, in the slightest. Not knowing what to do, and not wanting to disappoint the hosts inside (who were mostly likely waiting for Bob and I to attend with the rest of the guests, and oh! How I wanted to feast upon those guests!), I fell to the ground and wept. Suddenly, the door opened, and a rather tall fellow loomed over me. "You're late for dinner," he said in a low, gruff tone. Despite being late, the stranger was obviously happy to see me, which made my insides want to turn themselves out. "I'm sorry," I sobbed. "Bob and I tried to get through the door, but we couldn't, and oh..." I looked around, but Bob was nowhere to be found. "Poor Bob, he felt so bad about it that he's run off..." "It doesn't matter, Summer, dinner's ready," the strange man said. "Wait a minute, who's Bob?" "No need to get jealous, my good sir; I'll introduce you next time. I must warn you, though. Bob is a very flirtatious woman, especially when it comes to other men." I was escorted inside, and as we walked, we passed a large shelf. On this shelf was a picture of me, in a silver frame. "Ah, you all are so wonderful to me," I said to the tall fellow as I hooked my arm through his. "Making a shrine for me, and all to impress me at dinner. Too bad Bob can't be here to see this...but he'd probably be jealous, considering there's no picture of him to be found..." The tall fellow rolled his eyes, pulled his arm away, and muttered something under his breath. "What was that, my fine gentleman?" I asked. "Nothing. Who the hell is Bob?" I laughed. "No, no. Bob is not from hell, no need to worry about my safety. I'm not the kind to hang around with demons." "You being smart with me?" "Smart? Why yes, I am smart, thank you for noticing!" I couldn't think of any ways that the night could get better. My intelligence was finally being unappreciated! "Okay, that's it, I've had enough," the strange man said. "You're going to your room." I gasped deeply. "My room? Why, you care for me enough to bring dinner to my room for me?" I was then escorted to my room, which looked a lot like my cubicle at the office building. If only Bob could see the similarities! Shortly after, as I lay in bed, a lovely woman came through my bedroom door with a plate of food. I recognized her immediately. "Mother!" I exclaimed. "Why, it's been so many years since I saw you, how have you been?" She laughed. "Summer, you never stop with the jokes." "Jokes? Oh no, mother, I'm quite serious. It's been a rather long time since I've seen you, and good gracious, how I've missed you!" "You just saw me this afternoon," she said, "and I understand that you were a bit rude to your father earlier." "Father? Oh no, I haven't seen my father all day." "Hmm..." She tilted her head to one side, as if thinking. "Well then, I guess I'll ask him about it in the morning. Here's dinner. Goodnight sweetheart, have sweet dreams." She gave me the plate and a kiss on the forehead, and left the room. I was left to think about my day over my chicken teriyaki and premature corn. After I finished eating, I rolled over on my side and smiled. "Ah, Bob, if only you could have been here for dinner. Quite nice people, the hosts are..." At this, I fell asleep.

You write as I dream in a very disjointed way. It makes for a very fascinating style. Excellent ;0)
