i see skulls and horrified faces. first thing i think of when i look at this is Edvard Munch's, "The Scream." i know, i know...doesn't look anything like Munch's painting, but nonetheless, it's what i see and think of when i look at this! hmmmmm, i'm curious what you saw when you took this! expressionist piece that i so much enjoy! fantastic capture!

Beautiful...... I have such a love for rich dark tones..... and driftwood. Indeed, faces contorted in pain, twisted skulls..... or maybe I'm insane, as I've always suspected.......

Beautiful work, Egmont :)) I love the texture and the light of this wood :)) In my opinin, it would look better if a little less dark .. but it's my opinion :)) Anyway, it's a fantastic work, Egmont and I love this study in B&W :)) V

Bonjour Egmont. Bonne journ, bient. Nathalie

My friend Chantal suggested I'd take another look at this image and I have. Retracing my steps and reviewing the earlier two renditions, I felt Chantal is right. A touch lighter brings out the detail in the dark areas. So what is being represented here, is the slightly lighter rendition. Thank you Chantal for having me take another closer look at this photograph.

Cudos to Chantal for helping you make this already awsome image even better. Fabulous texture terrain here, I see lots of things in it's swirls. A wonderful opener to your new gallery.

my uncle harry used to take us down to the beach with his airdale mike, all five of us would pile into the back of his pickup truck and mike would run along the beach and carry rocks in his mouth hehe! we used to climb on these trees i think they are cypress and they grow sideways because of the wind! the wood looks like this picture so maybe it was from a cypress tree! thanks for sharing your wonderful california with us!
