Description
This scene started as a test for displacement & multiple grass layers, but I decided to finish it off with some textures and lighting to make a complete scene. For the sidewalk I painted a displacement map in Phototshop to get some rough edges, cracks and the trowel lines around the perimeter.I have 3 different types of grass on 3 planes with various scatters and colors to make the grass uneven.I scanned a few dandelion leaves from my yard to use as textures for the weeds.I made one flower pedle out of a spline and cloned it about a 35 times to make each flower. Then did alittle bit of post in Photoshop to finish it off.Comments or suggestions always appreciated. If anyone actually read all of this,Then thanks for taking the time.Ben

he he .. yes I read it all, and enjoyed your description very much (cool how you give so much insight in how your approach is to making your cool artwork). Wonderful displacement, those sidewalk stones look really cool, and so does the greens. Love your lighting (with the shadowmap) .. thanks for making this test into a final image, it turned out wonderfully. Excellent & Vote
