Description

*WIP*-This is based on the real crime scene location of Jack The Ripper's last victim Mary Kelly.Whose body was found in room 13 of Miller's Court in the Whitechapel District of London England in 1888.I was watching the movie "From Hell" the other night.Which is based on Jack The Ripper, that's what gave me the idea to try this. This is just the finished model,it has no textures yet, just bump maps.I'm going to try adding a "Jack" silhouette going down the alley and afew other things.Any comments or suggestions are appreciated,Thanks for the view.Ben

Yeah dark & scary is the way to go. See if you can light it so the jack figure cast a big scarey shadow!! Looks good so far. Matt :-)

looks great, nice modeling and lighting, keep it up.....but i would go for a darker look when you texture it, nice and scary too really capture the mood, but either way it should look great. I just love dirty, grimy, dark lookin scenes. Check out my new submission in my gallery "The Bathroom" my lighting sucks though, but i think i did a decent job on the textures. The other ones a year old so dont bother, im not happy with that one. Happy modeling.

Thanks guys for the comments.Yeah I was planning on going for a dark creepy look, with some mist or fog for the finished image. For this one I used fake GI lighting, just to show the details of the model for now. Thanks again,Ben

If you enjoyed From Hell the film, then you should read Alan Moores original graphic novel, far superior! Should give you some pointers to how dark it really got in 1888! Look forward to seeing the finished shot!

Looks great, how about adding some fog which is usaally in place such as yours, and i agree a little darker would be fine.Keep up the good work

Wow, this is a wonderful model. I love your perspective here, where we get a glimse throgh that dark alley and see a carrage .. yes will be cool with some dark textures, haze etc. some yellow light from that lamppost, and a cool bluish tone (like moon lit night) I think would also add to the atmosphere. One thing that struck me was the size of the "ground tiles", but they probably was so at that time/place? Wonderful details .. I think you could add a little more detail to the pipe coming down the wall to the left (something to "hold" it in place), and the doors handle may be a tad to big also. BUT I think you did a FANTASTIC job on this one .. so inspirering, I have to get going and do some more Max work. Cant wait to se your continued work on this wonderful scene!!!! Excellent *Vote
