Description

All painted today in paintshop 7 by throwing on the painttool(no paintbrushed ) then the smudge tool and smudging it all around with differant size smugde and paint -back and forth like that for hours till the job is done!..this guy took about 4 hours today! This one is dedicated to Webshawdow... welcome back LAurie! GOsh I sure am happy you came back cause I missed your charming work...I know for a fact others did too... didn't know how much you were missed and loved on here- did you? This is a painting I did today of a local owl - HE is a spotted owl .Saw this guy last week in a nearby local nature center..(Placerita Canyon one of the first places Gold was discovered in California)! The thing that intrigued me about this paticular owl is that it was maskless... maybey it up and fell off when it was flying (jks!) (also saw a redtailed hawk and a California condor which is one of the rarest birds in the world!) Anyways, ...hardly any of this painting is from the photo, cause its all be repainted over about 5 times and is all my origianl work you see here... Going to keep this one short and sweet -lol -all that painting my eyes need a rest the world is getting to be a very fuzzy place!...LOL Have a nice weekend all and thanks for all the comments on my latest tunnel of light! ps.oh yeah and if anyone wants to use this guy in thier work hes' a freebird --LOL (sings)))) freebird by Lenard skynard!! hehehe)!! hugs !! Kimmers!

The expression of this owl is priceless. does he/she know something we don't? ... and the moon doesn't seem too concerned. What's with that? :-) Beautiful painstaking artwork Kim ... Excellent image. I love it!

Dear Kimarie, he does look sad, but then I think all owls have that sort of look about them some - so maybe he's really just "looking" sad. Realyl fanciful image and such a great job with your smudging! Owls have always been some of my favorites - and - i walked out on the balcony abotu a month ago and a barn owl was sitting on the railing!!! We just stood and stared at each other for several minutes, and then it spread those great muffled wings and casually sailed off into the night! The moon is a cute feature, too. You alwasy do such excellent work!!! Love, Meredith

Cool and stunning style Kim, and the idea of painting/smudging on a photo so many times that this becomes something totally and cool artwork is a fantastic and original concept, I have to try that some day! Love this owl, how soft its feathers look and this expression on it's face! Cool play with lighting/shadow .. V

Simply enchanting! He looks a little sad, I love the cartoon portrayal of the moon. It makes it seem like a story illustration. I agree with Digimon, you should illustrate childrens books.
