Nice one stephen, you know what this image is crying out for... a nice misty shot of a moon (or maybe 2 moons) just rising above the skyline. What do ya think?? other than that I like it a lot mate :o)

Very well done. I like the depth of field you achieved with the mountains in the background. If I were to offer any constructive crit. for a re-render I would only suggest a new texture for the evergreen needles. If you could get them lighter at the top and darker at the bottom I think it would compliment your lighting nicely. Enjoyed viewing, thanks for the post!

Thanks for the comments guys. o-q: First time I loaded up tS 3.2 I gave up on it as too hard and tried Anim8or instead - I'd already been playing with an early version of Amapi and found the interfaces less demanding for a total newbie - it was only later when I was teaching myself animation that I persevered with tS 3.2 - it seemed I was spending half my time looking for the right icon! As I remember I made the terrain with terragen and photoshop and imported to tS as an OBJ file. Madmouse: This was a one off test shot as I was setting up an animation (various UFO's entered stage left and floated across the scene while lighting the landscape with spotlights). The fog was way to time consuming to render over 500 frames and the final scene was a lot darker. j3d cg: thanks for the comments. tS 3.2 seemed to handle all the polygons better than tS 5.1 which is my current version - I doubt that I'll be doing anything more with this scene - I really only posted it because I just like it!!

A good enogh reason to post WZRD, sometimes a picture just "works" for you dosn't it? As for handling high poly counts, you know I think your right! Though the 3ds and dx real time previews are a real advance.
