Description

Ultrafractal 3.02 -- sharpened and contrast enhanced with PSP7 "Hear, ye, hear ye - welcome to our meeting of Sphere-oholics Anonymous, here's our first testimonial!" "Uh...ahem...uh...hi, I'm Rick Spix and it's been 75 days since my last sphere...." (applause, and general crowd hubbub - "good on ya, Mate"!) "thanks, it's been tough but I..." ...suddenly, a voice from the crowd... "Hey, wait just a minute there, nimrod - what do you call that thing in the center of your post 2day!??" (much murmuring and shuffling from the crowd) "Oh, uh..er...THAT....uh, I reckon I forgot it was there - it's just a LITTLE one...." "Take him away to the Hall of Purity!" ...a few hours later in the Hall of Purity.... "Er...forgive me Benoit, for I have sinned and made an orb in a fractal..." "Fret not, my son - say 15 "Hail Mandies", iterated 100 times to a bailout of 1e20, then 14 "Our Spirals" - may you regain your lost purity" "Thanx - that's what I'll doo....dad..." Whoa, where did THAT come from?? Weird - even for me! lol Here's another one where I tried to give a painted look but with bigger strokes. When using any of the "fbm" ucl's (this background is my fave "fbm Popcorn Trap) pay attention to the number for the "step size", "scale" and/or "noise scale". Sometimes you can go really small, like "0.02" to get neat textures. The name (the "serious" one - lol) comes from the "eyes" that happened in the spiralled thingamajig "ghosties". Thanks for stopping by! Rick ***(Fine art giclee' prints of most of my work are available in limited edition on archival paper or canvas - e-mail: drahcir3@hotmail.com and get busy filling that empty spot on the wall! Coven or orb... makes no difference to me... it's beautiful either way. I've always had a thing for orbs too so you just keep right on making them. You do them so well! :)

To h** with the SA meetings!! Just please drown yourself into your Sphereolism and make us some more! This is just true fractal perfection Rick, and be honest, what are the side affects of being addicted? (other than sleepless nights, angry family and the cost of matches to keep your eyes open..) ;-)) V I love the contradiction between the dark, painted backgroud and the colored flower in the front with the orb.. like hope in dark days!

A wonderfully brilliant work! Love those peeping eyes and the orb, while there, is certainly just the center of this and does not dominate. Terrific!

Wonderful brushwork! I love the way the color intensifies as it arrives at the sphere :) The tatters on the left side are awesome and the pleated 'robes' are really unusual.

Oh my gosh!! What a rant, it makes looking at the image all the more satisfying. I'll bet you have a few "gallons" of spirals hiding in the cellar don't ya? Just for emergencies. Keep up the fabulous work and the entertaining spiels as well. Love it!
