Description

Ultrafractal 3.02 -- sharpened and contrast enhanced with PSP7 "Hear, ye, hear ye - welcome to our meeting of Sphere-oholics Anonymous, here's our first testimonial!" "Uh...ahem...uh...hi, I'm Rick Spix and it's been 75 days since my last sphere...." (applause, and general crowd hubbub - "good on ya, Mate"!) "thanks, it's been tough but I..." ...suddenly, a voice from the crowd... "Hey, wait just a minute there, nimrod - what do you call that thing in the center of your post 2day!??" (much murmuring and shuffling from the crowd) "Oh, uh..er...THAT....uh, I reckon I forgot it was there - it's just a LITTLE one...." "Take him away to the Hall of Purity!" ...a few hours later in the Hall of Purity.... "Er...forgive me Benoit, for I have sinned and made an orb in a fractal..." "Fret not, my son - say 15 "Hail Mandies", iterated 100 times to a bailout of 1e20, then 14 "Our Spirals" - may you regain your lost purity" "Thanx - that's what I'll doo....dad..." Whoa, where did THAT come from?? Weird - even for me! lol Here's another one where I tried to give a painted look but with bigger strokes. When using any of the "fbm" ucl's (this background is my fave "fbm Popcorn Trap) pay attention to the number for the "step size", "scale" and/or "noise scale". Sometimes you can go really small, like "0.02" to get neat textures. The name (the "serious" one - lol) comes from the "eyes" that happened in the spiralled thingamajig "ghosties". Thanks for stopping by! Such a beautiful sphere and I for one will never get tired viewing them. I love your little dialogue. Now for more serious commenting... I love the paper fine delicate beauty that I see here before me. You really have given it such a fragile look as if it might break if you touch it. What a treat to view. Congrats on the nomination of AOM... I can't believe I'm even in the same category as you. :)

Super cool the way you made this sphere the center from were all there structures expand. Wonderful details and cool painted look (with those bigger strokes you mention). Top class fractal work! V

Fabulous colors and painted feel to this... I like this painterly style you are developing, and of course, anything with a sphere catches my attention. :))

ROFL.... That's not even a LITTLE one !! Great work Rick, colours, movement and composition are realy top! I must say, I get more of a coloured pencil feel from this work, but that could be my eyes getting older ;-)

This is just incredible to the highest degree. Unbelievable use of color, dull lighting and texture and shapes/proportion. If anyone gives this less than the -Excellent- it is, they are foolish. :-)
