Description

Do you know the story of Samson and Delilah? It's a story of betrayal and love. In short: Delilah cut Samson's hair, and Samson lost his strength. Do you have features or things that are so important that if taken away you felt totally losing your energy; something essential for you; maybe even the lust of life? Some myths and legends live so vividly in our culture that we actually believe in them - as if losing the hair meant more than it should... I painted this in PhotoShop. Thanks for viewing! I appreciate a lot your comments! :-)

This is a very essential issue Titta, that I hesitate to even think it through honestly. The first thing that comrs to my mind is of course the computer. But then...my eyesight, my hands...I shiver! You have made another wonderful thoughtprovking painting, I love her expression and can kind of read her mind. Wonderful colors and your unique style make this to something special!!

This is so provocative an image I can't comment, except to say how very defiant her eyes are. Whatever she has lost, its obvious it is not her pride.

Interesting ramifications to this painting -- I suppose it all comes down to whether one is externally or internally connected to their source of strength -- I suppose there are degrees of both. Excellent image and idea.

Another excellent painting from you Titta! I love the intensity of feeling & symbolism in this, great expression, she does show defiance in the face of such adversity & your choice of colour is perfect for your concept too, very well done ; )

I was watching Stargate Atlantis last night and somewhere in the episode it was mentioned that they were only allowed to take one thing with them. Can you imagine? You don't realize how many 'things' we hang onto for our identity unless we think about walking away from them, forever. ~lost p.s. no compter? ah! (no, seriously. Bad. Many times I can't write for draw very long, analog, with my fibro...what would I do??? panic)

powerful in the expression & red... to lose a part of oneself without wanting to such as this could be heartwrenching... wonderfully done & thought provoking for sure!! :]

My friend, you somehow get better and better with each new post, it seems hugs :-D I'm most drawn to the intensely warm reds here, offset by the staring green of her eyes. Very well composed in colour and form, and the usual reflections of life add a whole new dimension to what would already be an excellent work. Splendid :-)
