Description

Don't touch! it could be booby-trapped.. ;] loosely based on an Incan statue, but could also be Mayan or Aztec etc.. Though technically non of those since I made it up as I went along :p Just a quick model done for the monthly challenge here at Renderosity, in the Wings3D forums. The topic was "Southern and Central American cultures". 2-3 hours of modeling (in Wings3D) for the statue.. didn't time myself on the pedestal and pillars though, and the walls/floor are old. Rendering was slow (Ray Dream 5.5).. bunch of soft lights in there, and reflective surfaces reflecting themselves/each-other etc. Then it was off to Painter for post-work.. focus blur, glare, brightness/contrast/saturation & layer mixing fun. Worked out well though no? at least I like it, so there it is. Here's some mesh pics from Wings.. Wire-Cage and Smooth

I dig this thing! I'm not goin' burst into praising the excellent render and else. It's obviuos. But that expression on the face! It kills! It could b whatever You want but not Incan. Incs wouldn't make a golden sculpture with a confusion on it's face :) Excellent! Simply Excellent!

Wee, most comments ever for one of my pics.. thanks a lot everyone. Was just a quick challenge entry that I actually started somewhat reluctantly, and close to the deadline no less (started working on it when it was requested people submit their entries in, since the challenge deadline was coming up in a few days), but it ended up being a fun little thing to model, and yea it sure worked out nicely in the end. I guess I'll have to keep that in mind next time I'm not sure about a challenge topic, if 'ya got the spare time it can't hurt to try.. never know how it might work out. Thxs again everybody, all comments are appreciated.
