ISO 100, 13 seconds at f5.6
This is a long exposure of the Washington Monument. The 13-second shutter opening allows the colors of the sky to become more saturated, resulting in the smooth color gradient seen in this photo. No filters or digital tricks were used in this image. The red horizontal streaks at the bottom are from tail lights of cars passing by during the time the shutter was open.
I'm just back from another vacation and have not posted in about a week. I have been visiting some wildlife sanctuaries photographing many different kinds of birds. Thank you for your gracious comments.
