Description

A test render using the P6 Character Realism Kit on Morris' great new (not quite released yet) texture for Jessi. Pls excuse the lack of art. I was testing a new workflow for modiying posed figures and clothing outside of P6. Still trying to work out the right IBL to standard lighting (and AO to normal shadows) ratio - and certainly a long way from getting it right. This is a plain white IBL image at about 30% plus 2 std lights (spec at 100%, diff at 50%), plus 2 additional spec only lights. IBL's lack of specular makes it of somewhat mixed benefit for human realism renders. I suspect in the end a really good infinite light-rig (with AO) - will provide more realism than IBL for human skin. No postwork.

She does have a long torso doesn't she... and that bikini strap looks really tight across her back. Great realism... excellent image!

Excellent "squish" effect! ;) Good realism, but for some reason, her left leg seems strangely jagged.

Love how you incorperate the smallest details into your renders to bring out even more realism! Awesome render!

Ahhhh, cannot jumpstart P6 and already losing IBL...no way to get specular? What about that HDRI thread hotwired into P5? Now this (hrs) is a skin for goosebumps! Not sure about the P6 figs yet...they need a lot of catch-up.

This looks GREAT. Can't wait till Morris releases this texture. About specularity... IBL isn't much different than actual HDRI when it comes to specularity on skin. Even with true HDRI/GI in high end packages, skin specularity can be problematic, unless you incorporate a hint of reflectivity to it. I often find myself using spec-only lights in 3dsmax, for example, to bring out more highlights in the skin when using GI. Great render.
