halfway there, no turning back
horizons beckon bright and clear
courage and spirit, all intact
challenge beats in every ear
far from home
we had to roam
hoping it was there
pass the salt, there's plenty more
no reason to conserve
daily rations, let's have four
much more is in reserve
ate it all
late in fall
hoping it was there
daylight comes but not for long
no light to see the way
season's echo our last song
we are here to stay
hit the trail
would not fail
hoping it was there
