Description

This image could be better. The exif info shows why. The day was very cloudy and the mountain top at Stone Mountain, GA, USA was mist shrouded. Vultures above and below were barely visible once they hit the mist. So, I went to 320 ISO to get the birds and could have done better at about 200 for landscape. This is a granite mound, about 900 feet high, clear of most large vegetation. Color comes much from lichens and small stuff we often pay little attention to. It look like the horizon simply drops off like at the edge of the world. Well, it does just drop off, a steep curve then almost straight down to the green forest below. Digital camera, ISO 320, f4.1, 46mm (35mm equivalent)Sigma 18-120 lens, 1/320 sec. That speed blows me away..I should have paid more attention! Anyway, here it is. Beautiful and strange place to be. Take the skylift up or hike on a dry day.
